Then there is the getting everyone on board with your new plan. The best way to do this is education and showing of results. Want help with your home business, start showing your family the paychecks and start a "vacation" or other fund with that money and they'll start supporting you in every way possible. Perhaps you simply want them to rinse packages and recycle -- google your local towns landfill and find out how close to full it might be and where the next proposed site is, if that doesn't work leave me a comment and I'll make a future blog post on the topic, recycling IS the answer to keeping a big smelly landfill from being dug near your home. Changing the diet of your family often meets resistance, start by making their favorites instead of eliminating them, so if your kids love cookies in their lunch, start baking cookies from scratch (not from boxed mixes) instead of simply saying "we're all going to eat healthier organic foods". Make little changes at first, and work your way up. Changing everything at once is too much for you and will only lead to more resistance from family. Baby steps. Remember that you deserve time to live a balanced life, the children deserve to learn the skills necessary to manage their own homes someday. Your spouse deserves a happier less stressed partner who knows he or she does not possess mental telepathy. When you ask for help, everyone will be happier. You deserve it, they do as well.
Of course, whenever you have time, offer to help others. It feels good and does wonders for a sense of community and makes the world a better place for us all to live.
