This is a hard assignment for me, I had a flood several years ago that wiped out a lot of things.
Which leaves my teddy bear.
I still have my teddy bear. It really has nothing to do with the fact that I also still wear feet pajamas. My aunt was cleaning out her room when I was about 9 years old and gave me this bear. Of all the stuffed animals I had, I had always just really liked this bear. He's white with brown and gold overalls. Eventually I got rid of all my other stuffed animals, and I had quite a lot of them.
I remember once, I wasn't feeling well, and I needed to take a nap. I asked my daughter, who was about eight, to wake me up at 3:00 so I could start dinner. I woke up at 5:00 with the bear. I asked, "Why didn't you wake me up?" she said, "I went upstairs and you looked so tired that I just gave you a bear instead." Apparently my eight year decided I was too sleepy to wake up and instead just tucked the bear under my arm and didn't mind that dinner would be a little late. She'd do that a lot, come to cuddle with me in the early morning hours then leave and tuck the bear under my arm. He's come to mean a lot to me, and always reminds me of some of the best years and best friends I've ever had in life.
