I've tried many apps & sites this month to figure out a way to save the most money without an enormous investment of time. Our time is valuable too.
My favorite website for saving money is The Money Saving Mom. She compiles the sales and coupon match-ups so I don't have to. Scanning her store specific deals has helped me save tons this month.
Grocery University is another great resource for learning couponing techniques and she has some great links to all sorts of printable coupon sites.
Cartwheel for Target
For mobile coupons from Target simply Text OFFERS to TARGET and they will text you a link to more scannable coupons.
TIP: when you walk into the store hit the browser button and accept the terms of their wifi service. otherwise people behind you in line might hate you for taking too long to load your mobile coupons and cartwheel as you pray for a 4G signal in the front of the store.
I have been using Cartwheel for about 2 months now and I've saved almost $100. When you combine a manufacturer coupon, a target coupon, a sale, and a cartwheel you can get some fabulous deals. I usually consult the money saving mom first since she has usually done the leg-work of finding these great combos for me.
When Items do scan you gain access not only to a price comparison but also to online reviews of that item. I find customer reviews to be an excellent source of unbiased information on a product. I tend to shop at stores that do price match, so I never have to drive around looking for the best price. One store once refused to price match an Amazon.com price, so I ordered from Amazon. I have since learned that most stores will price patch amazon prices, but only at the service desk, the person helping you in the actual department rarely knows this. I have saved a ton of money NOT buying products that break or don't work as advertised, as well as saving money on items that I have been able to get price matched and saved a few dollars since the location I was in was not actually the lowest price for that item.
Still others such as shopping list and extreme coupon finder, simply either did not work on my phone, the LG G2 or simply didn't work because they did not include stores in my area, We have Hannafords, Shaws, Whole foods, and at least for now, Market Basket. We do not have Aldi, Kroeger, Safeway, or Publix, so many of these apps left me feeling left-out.
