I enjoyed this book with the lessons presented by both Dave Ramsey himself, as well as his daughter, Rachel Cruze. In particular when he points out that he made mistakes and she either never noticed, or didn't remember, it gives me hope that I just might be able to raise my kids to win with money.
One of the best gifts you can give your child is to read this book and apply it.
Since reading this book, I sat down with my kids to explain that I expect them to go to college without loans. I will pay for a reasonable tuition. If the state school isn't good enough for them, they will need scholarships or jobs. I explained that if they get scholarships, we can take the money out of their college fund and they can have that money to put towards buying a house when they graduate. I explained that now to prepare them. They should stay in scouting and go after the highest awards they offer, they should do community service, they have 4-6 years to work on what they need to do to apply for these. They're already working on it and I couldn't be more proud. I'm optimistic about their financial future. This book showed me how to teach them at every age how to handle money.
